What is the Circuit Rock 'n' Roll?
The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series is the "the world's largest Running circuit" with more than 600,000 people who participate each year in 27 cities in North America and Europe 6. The series boasts very attractive destinations for athletes and a huge local support that has established itself as a dynamic platform for athletics.
What began as a simple idea in 1998, the idea of making the running more fun, combining it with live music, soon completely transformed Athletics landscape in the United States. Suddenly, the music located at every mile and the amazing party atmosphere made long distance racing much more accessible. Soon, more and more people began participating in something that had they never dreamed that they could do; running a marathon. The proliferation of participants has resulted in more than 267 million dollars raised by charitable organizations.
Today, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series continues to celebrate the run and not just the finish, featuring live bands along the course, cheering teams and entertainment at water stations. The outdoor festival encapsulates cities in their entirety and culminates with a finish line festival featuring some of the best music acts around. Past performers include the Goo Goo Dolls, Counting Crows, Chris Isaak, Bret Michaels and Sugar Ray.
Let´s keep the party going!... because we are very pleased to announce that the number of marathons and half marathons Rock ´n´ Roll will continue to expand not only in size, but also in the number of participating countries in 2013!
